Dr. Ziv Schwartz, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon with specialized expertise in the treatment of skin cancer and advanced reconstructive surgery. He provides comprehensive, personalized care—from early detection and prevention to surgical and non-surgical treatment—along with expert general dermatologic care with an emphasis on skin cancer surveillance and long-term management tailored to each patient’s needs. Known for his “patients always come first” philosophy, Dr. Schwartz believes that understanding each individual’s unique goals is the essence of successful treatment.
A Rockland County native, Dr. Schwartz was raised in both Nanuet and New City, and is proud to return home to care for the community he grew up in.
Dr. Schwartz completed a prestigious fellowship in Mohs surgery under the world-renowned Mohs surgery pioneer, Dr. Leonard Goldberg, in Houston. He graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University, where he also completed a master’s degree in healthcare administration. Dr. Schwartz went on to earn his medical degree with distinction as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, as well as research honors from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Before returning to Rockland County, Dr. Schwartz served as a dermatologist at Houston Methodist Hospital, which was ranked the top hospital in Texas by U.S. News & World Report, where he treated some of the most medically complex dermatology cases. He has published extensively in both dermatologic and broader medical literature, with a focus on skin cancer and Mohs surgery.
Dr. Schwartz specializes in the detection of skin cancer, advanced skin cancer surgery with reconstructive techniques, and cosmetic dermatology. He also provides care for adult and pediatric patients with general dermatology conditions, including acne, eczema, and other skin concerns.
