Karl Kruszynski, PA-C

KARL KRUSZYNSKI, PA-C

Karl Kruszynski, a certified physician assistant, joined Hudson Dermatology in July 2014. He sees patients in our Kingston and Poughkeepsie offices.

He studied and practiced dermatology for seven years under Dr. Marie-Louise Johnson in Kingston and as a fellow at the Institute for Family Health in Kingston. Before that, he worked as a physician assistant for over three years, practicing urology.

Karl received his Master of Health Sciences and his physician assistant training at Duke University in North Carolina. His undergraduate degree in General Studies is from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants/Associates and a Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). We are proud to announce that Karl is one of the first PAs in the Hudson Valley Region to receive the Certificate of Added Qualification in Dermatology (CAQ-Dermatology) recognized by the National Commission of Certifications of Physician Assistants.

Mr. Kruszynski loves to bake and enjoys entering his creations for competition at the Dutchess County Fair each year.

Isaac R. Rosenblum, PA-C

Isaac Rosenblum, P.A.-C.

Isaac Rosenblum is a certified physician assistant who worked in neurovascular surgery, urgent care, family medicine, and internal medicine before coming to Hudson Dermatology in early 2016.

Mr. Rosenblum graduated with the highest honors from the Physician Assistant Program at Miami Dade College in Florida in 2014.

He came to medicine by an unusual route: He first earned a law degree from the University of Miami and practiced as a lawyer for four years. While practicing law, Mr. Rosenblum also trained to be an emergency medical technician and decided that medical work was his calling.

His particular areas of interest include complex skin diseases, eczema and psoriasis, skin cancer screenings, and excisional surgery of both benign and malignant lesions. He was featured in the Hudson Valley Magazine article “Summer Skincare Tips You Need for a Healthy Season“. He’s also been published in the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology (read more) and the Cureus Journal of Medical Science (read more).

When he’s not at work, he can be found hiking the Hudson Valley or rock climbing at the world-famous Gunks.

Olga K. Gaskins, PA-C

OLGA KANDRATSENIA GASKINS, PA-C

Olga Kandratsenia Gaskins is a certified physician assistant who practices medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Ms. Gaskins started her journey as a dermatology PA-C in 2014 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and continued caring for patients at Keller Army Community Hospital at West Point.

Ms. Gaskins has mentored physician assistant students throughout her career, and during her free time teaches at the Marist College Physician Assistant Program.

She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University and completed her master of science in physician assistant studies at the University of Pittsburgh.

Olga Gaskins is a diplomat fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) as well as an active member of the American Academy of PAs (AAPA).

Erica Scarrone, PA-C

Erica Scarrone, PA-C

Erica Scarrone is a certified physician assistant and has specialized in dermatology since 2010. She practiced pediatric dermatology for more than seven years in Brooklyn, NY before joining Hudson Dermatology in 2019.

Erica received her master of medical science degree in 2009 from the Physician Associate Program at Yale University. During her clinical year at Yale, Erica piloted an international PA student program in Madrid, Spain. She is proficient in medical Spanish and treats many of our Spanish-speaking patients in Tarrytown and Somers. She earned her undergraduate degree from Boston University.

Erica is a diplomat of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and has been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Erica is passionate about all aspects of dermatology but takes a particular interest in treating skin conditions in children and adolescents. She was raised in Fishkill, NY, and currently lives in Westchester County with her husband and three children.

Abigail Brenkach-Devereaux, PA-C

ABIGAIL BRENKACH, PA-C

Abigail Brenkach-Devereaux is a certified physician assistant who has been practicing dermatology since 2015. She practices adolescent and adult medical dermatology in our Kingston and Hudson offices and has an interest in skin cancer prevention. She is also a specialist in cosmetic dermatology.

Abigail graduated from Kings College with a master’s degree in physician assistant studies and completed a three-year fellowship through the Institute for Family Health under the tutelage of Dr. Marie-Louise Johnson. She joined Hudson Dermatology in the summer of 2020.

Abigail received her cosmetic certification through Aesthetic Medical Educators Training and is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She is from the Kingston area, where she attended Coleman High School. Abigail received her bachelor’s degree from Emmanuel College in Boston and played four years of collegiate basketball there. She received the Emmanuel College Scholar-Athlete Award.

Courtney Emerson, PA-C

COURTNEY EMERSON, PA-C

Courtney Emerson, a certified physician assistant, joined Hudson Dermatology at the beginning of 2021 and has been practicing dermatology for over ten years. She sees patients in our Kingston and Poughkeepsie offices.

Mrs. Emerson practices adult and pediatric medical dermatology and is trained in medical and cosmetic laser treatments. She takes pride in giving comprehensive, compassionate, individualized care while providing thorough patient education and treatment in all dermatologic conditions. She decided to become a physician assistant after spending two years as a dermatology medical assistant, then graduated from Mercy College with a master’s degree in physician assistant studies in 2012. She also won the clinical excellence award at graduation and graduated magna cum laude. Afterward, she traveled on a medical mission to Africa, serving in the only hospital in Bamako, Mali.

Mrs. Emerson is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She received her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Connecticut State University and played NCAA collegiate volleyball. She is an active player in volleyball and softball leagues, enjoys working out on her Peloton, and is the proud mother of two boys.

Lubna Latif, PA-C

Lubna Latif

Lubna Latif is a certified physician assistant serving patients in our Poughkeepsie and Kingston offices. She joined Hudson Dermatology in March 2021.

Her love for dermatology sparked after working as a dermatology medical assistant. Having earned her bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University, she went on to complete her master of science in Physician Assistant studies at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut in 2018. She has been practicing dermatology exclusively since completing her program, with special interests in skin cancer management and patient education.

Ms. Latif has published in the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and completed her graduate thesis on the use of pulsed dye lasers for the treatment of port wine stains. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Corinne Reilly, PA-C

CORINNE REILLY, PA-C

Corinne Reilly joined Hudson Dermatology in April 2021 after almost four years at Caremount Medical. She is a certified physician assistant and sees adult and pediatric patients in our Fishkill and Poughkeepsie offices.

Ms. Reilly diagnoses and treats skin, hair, and nail conditions, including acne, psoriasis, eczema, and hyperhidrosis, and has a particular interest in acne and early skin cancer detection. She has also trained in medical and cosmetic laser treatments.

She developed a passion for dermatology after suffering from cystic acne as a teenager. Before practicing dermatology, she worked in oncology and hematology for four years, which helped her develop a warm and compassionate nature with patients.

She graduated summa cum laude from Marist College in 2010 and graduated with a master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from the New York Institute of Technology in 2013. She was awarded Best Practitioner in 2023 by Chronogram magazine.

Larissa Rutter, PA-C

Larissa Rutter is a certified physician assistant serving patients in both our Hudson and Kingston offices. She comes to Hudson Dermatology with over eleven years of dermatology experience. She practiced for five years with the Department of Dermatology at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, where she was awarded a Top Provider, and spent several years in private practice in Southern New York State before joining HD in 2021.

Larissa practices adult and pediatric medical dermatology. She is trained in all areas of dermatology including the diagnosis and treatment of various skin disorders such as acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, and skin cancer. She has a particular interest in acne and rosacea and is also trained in cosmetic procedures such as Botox/Xeomin and dermal filler injections. She earned a Master of Health Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in 2013 where she graduated with highest honors. Larissa additionally holds a Masters in Public Health from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Delaware.

Larissa is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society for Pediatric Dermatology. Larissa is a Hudson Valley native and lives in Rhinebeck with her husband and four young sons.

Carolyn Baker, PA-C

Carolyn Baker PA-C

Carolyn Baker, PA-C joins Hudson Dermatology to provide surgical, cosmetic, and general dermatology care to patients in our Poughkeepsie, Kingston, and Hudson offices.

Ms. Baker graduated with honors from Colgate University in 2005, where she was inducted into the TriBeta biological honor society and received a degree in biology and Spanish. She then completed her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, graduating with the highest honors. During the clinical portion of her medical education, Ms. Baker trained with the plastic surgery department at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY.

Ms. Baker began her PA career in 2008, practicing plastic and reconstructive surgery, and transitioned to medical/surgical/cosmetic dermatology practice in 2016. With Hudson Dermatology, she focuses on non-Mohs skin cancer surgery and the surgical treatment of benign and pre-malignant lesions. She also sees patients with cosmetic and medical dermatology concerns and looks forward to continuing to serve patients in her native Hudson Valley.

Adam Payne, PA-C

ADAM PAYNE, PA-C

Adam Payne joined Hudson Dermatology after practicing dermatology in California for 12 years. Mr. Payne graduated from California Polytechnic University with a bachelor of science in 2006. He earned his master of Physician Assistant studies at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, Calif., in 2009.

Before becoming a physician assistant, Mr. Payne spent eight years working close to dermatologists as a Mohs histotechnician supervisor; he assisted Mohs micrographic surgeons in skin cancer removal by preparing and preserving tissue samples for analysis. He is trained in all aspects of patient care, including the diagnosis and treatment of various skin disorders such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea; skin cancer diagnosis and treatment; mole evaluation; and melanoma screening. He is proficient in surgical removal of skin cancer and moles, skin biopsy, and a variety of cosmetic services, including laser, BOTOX®, and dermal fillers.

LUKE D’AGOSTINO, PA-C

Luke D’Agostino

Luke D’Agostino is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. He joined Hudson Dermatology in November 2022 after six years of practicing dermatology in Manhattan and the Hudson Valley.

A native of Rochester, New York, Luke D’Agostino spent his formative years in Western New York and began his professional journey there, graduating with a degree in Chemistry from SUNY Geneseo. After several years in clinical research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Luke completed his graduate training at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Luke D’Agostino evaluates and treats a wide spectrum of dermatologic conditions and believes strongly in providing comprehensive and individualized care to patients of all ages and skin types. He considers the ability to affect positive change in patients’ lives to be his greatest joy in working in the field of dermatology.

CASSI SMITHEM, PA-C

Cassi Smithem, PA-C

Cassi Smithem is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in dermatology. She sees patients in our Kingston, Hudson, and Poughkeepsie offices.

Ms. Smithem received her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta and completed her master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at Marist College. She is dedicated to delivering comprehensive, compassionate, and individualized care. Her commitment extends beyond diagnosis and treatment, as she places great emphasis on establishing trusting and collaborative relationships with each of her patients.

When she is not at work you can find her fishing, hiking, skiing, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

MICHAEL BIENER, PA-C

Michael Biener is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in medical dermatology. Having been born and raised in the Hudson Valley, he is delighted to treat patients in our Hudson, Kingston, and Poughkeepsie offices.

He received his master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Mercy University and graduated with distinction. In addition, Michael won the Excellence in Fellowship award for his contributions and commitment to the cohort. During the clinical portion of his medical training, he was selected to rotate in dermatology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. Michael also holds a degree in histotechnology from the Indiana University School of Medicine and dual bachelor’s degrees in health sciences and public accounting.

Michael has been published in the Journal of Anatomy (read more). He is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and the New York State Society of Physician Assistants.

Beyond his professional life, he enjoys playing ice hockey, writing music on his guitar, indulging his passion for travel, and learning languages. Michael speaks French fluently and is currently studying Spanish.
