Meet a Double Board-Certified Dermatologist Providing Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Hudson Dermatology
Dr. John Carucci is an internationally recognized dermatologic surgeon specializing in skin cancer, complex reconstruction, and melanoma surgery. With more than two decades of experience, he is known for managing some of the most challenging cases, including aggressive and high-risk skin cancers requiring advanced surgical expertise. He will be working in our Hudson and Kingston offices starting in late spring of 2026.
Board-certified in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology, Dr. Carucci has performed thousands of procedures with a focus on achieving the highest cure rates while preserving both function and appearance. His expertise includes Mohs micrographic surgery, complex facial reconstruction—including multistage and flap-based repairs—and the surgical management of melanoma.
Dr. Carucci completed his dermatology residency at NYU Langone Health and advanced fellowship training in dermatologic surgery at Yale University. Prior to joining Hudson Dermatology, he served as Chief of Mohs Surgery and Director of Dermatologic Surgery at NYU Langone, where he led a tertiary referral center for complex skin cancers.
A nationally recognized leader in his field, Dr. Carucci previously served as Fellowship Director for NYU Langone’s ACGME-accredited Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology program, where he trained numerous fellows who have gone on to become leaders in dermatologic surgery across the country. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the American College of Mohs Surgery and is President-Elect, with his term as President beginning in 2027.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Carucci has contributed extensively to advancing the understanding of skin cancer, tumor immunology, and innovations in reconstructive surgery. He has authored more than 175 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters.
